Book Recommendations, Part 1

by Brandon

Like I mentioned in a previous blog, gaining visibility is one of the toughest parts of being an indie author. We don’t have a large marketing department pumping ad money into our books. It’s up to us to get the word to you. Then, all we can do is hope you’ll like the book enough to tell your friends.

There are some great indie authors out there who write in all genres. For that reason, I’m going to be working with several other authors in an attempt to increase indie visibility. I believe this is a good service to you and a great way to help other authors.

Every Saturday, I’m going to introduce you to two new books (one in the morning and one in the evening). These books will cover pretty much all genres, from romance to adventure to mystery to sci fi to nonfiction to horror. If doing this helps you find even one new favorite author, then I’ll feel like it was worth the effort.

Lessons (The Coulson Series, #1)The first book I’m introducing you to is Lessons (The Coulson Series), a contemporary romance novel by Anna J. McIntyre. If you’re in the mood for a contemporary romance that goes deeper, one reviewer described Lessons as “a deep, rich story of love, family and friendship.” This book is an adult love story and contains explicit mature content.

Here’s the blurb:

After losing her beloved husband in a car accident, Alexandra is left to raise her teenage son alone. Coming to terms with life as a single mother is difficult enough, yet now she must face the sins of her past when Garret Coulson returns to town.

Grandson of the town’s founder, the wealthy and powerful Garret Coulson fell in love with another man’s wife, resulting in a self-imposed exile. With that man dead, Garret can return to claim what should have been his.

For ten years, Alexandra has kept the secret of her infidelity. The fact she is now a widow does not make that secret any less painful to reveal. Some secrets have the power to shatter lives – yet sometimes they heal hearts.

So there you have it. If you’re a fan of romance, or even if you just want to step outside your reading comfort zones and check out something new, give Lessons a go.
