Trekkies often claim Star Trek V is the worst Star Trek movie.
Well, they’re wrong.
Yeah, goth Klingons can be annoying. I get that.
I also understand that Sybok’s just a Romulan. I mean, really. He’s a passionate Vulcan. That’s a Romulan in my book. I don’t know why that bald dude was all, “You’re a Vulcan!” Why would he assume that? He was looking at a passionate pointy-eared guy. Why didn’t Baldy assume he was a Romulan?
Yes, it’s odd that instead of ambushing their enemies, Kirk’s team apparently decided it would be a better idea to make poor Uhura dance naked in the desert.
And I totally get that “God” wasn’t exactly up to Khan levels as far as being a villain is concerned (although, you gotta admit, questioning God was totally a “Kirk moment”).
I understand the complaints and they’re all valid complaints… but I stand by my assertion that Star Trek V is the greatest thing to ever happen to Star Trek.
Why?
Because it gave us this video:
I really don’t think anything else needs to be said.
