Please Pray For The Students at Umpqua College…

by Brandon

I just saw on the news that there was yet another mass shooting. This time, it happened at Umpqua Community College (sorry if I got the spelling wrong ) in Oregon.

Once we have more information on this shooting, we can stake out our political positions, but for now, let’s all just pull together and pray for these people.

Whether you’re Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Wiccan, or Buddhist… Whether you worship the Force or the ancient Greek Gods… please pray to whatever God you worship for the well-being – both physically and emotionally – of the people going through this horrific event.

And if you’re a militant atheist, please just send them good vibes. Even if you do not believe in the power of prayer or the power of “sending good vibes”… do it anyway. As a personal favor to me.

It shatters my heart to see something like this happen. I know there are places in the world where people deal with this daily, and I don’t mean to exclude those people from my well-wishing, but today… I can’t help thinking about those kids at that college. And yes, most of them are probably kids, in their late teens or early 20s. They were at college to build better lives for themselves, and now, all that has been taken from them. Now, instead of talking to friends about how proud they are of their kids, the parents of those students are going to be mourning their deaths.

So please… as a favor to me… send those folks as many good vibes as you sent me when I was fighting death, because they deserve it no less.

Thanks.

Be safe, folks.

And hug someone you love.
